Mason Mount is expected to sign a new Chelsea contract, despite recent rumours suggesting he is asking for more than what Chelsea are offering.

However, we had info at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea from sources yesterday, throwing shade over this report. We understand the offer was nowhere near what is being quoted above, and the reason it was turned down was the contract length being too long, and not the actual money being offered.
Sources: The truth about Mason Mount’s contract situation!
Headline: Mason Mount rejects ‘more than £200k-a-week contract.’
Chelsea ‘fans’: What a prick.
Reality: Base fee rejected is WAY less, gets semi-near £200k with bonuses that could take years to reach and are unrealistic.
Conclusion: The reality wouldn’t get clicks.

Reliable Chelsea source Matt Law from The Telegraph has also explained why the talks have taken a bit of time on the London is Blue Podcast today.
As you can see below, Law expects Mount to sign an extension at Chelsea and does not foresee any issues.
🗣️ @Matt_Law_DT: “The relationship between Mason’s people and the new owners is good. I expect him to sign an extension.”

So would you look at that, it sounds like the situation is not as dramatic and uncertain as some of the reports that have been flying around right now.
