Player Chelsea have been close to signing suffers injury to miss World Cup

The World Cup starts on Sunday and national players have joined up with their countries to begin training ahead of the competition.

It has been a tense time for players in the last few weeks with concern of getting injured being a factor, and potentially missing out on playing in the biggest competition in football.

It’s a massive thing to be selected for your country and play in a World Cup, so when that gets taken away from you, it will naturally break your heart as a player.

This is now the case for Christopher Nkunku, a player that many believe will soon be a Chelsea player. The current RB Leipzig forward sustained a knee injury in training for France last night, and he will now miss the World Cup.

It is unclear as of now just how serious the injury is and whether it will have any effect at all on Chelsea’s attempts to sign him.
