As usual, it looks like England’s starting lineup has been leaked for today already, and it was even linked late last night, not even on the day.
These leaks are usually very reliable, so you can be pretty sure that this is likely to be the starting England team for their World Cup opener versus Iran this afternoon, barring any late injuries or changes.
The Telegraph [below] have even backed up the leaks with their predicted lineup, which is the same as the leaks. They ‘predict’ the lineup based on what they are hearing on who is starting. So again, I think it’s fairly safe to assume that this will be the starting Xl for England this afternoon.
It features two Chelsea players, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling, and it looks like a 4-3-3 lineup to me, meaning that Mount will be playing as an 8 – his preferred position.
Predicted England line-up from today's paper: Pickford; Trippier, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Bellingham, Rice; Saka, Mount, Sterling; Kane. https://t.co/2G6mUSRd35
