Jordan Henderson praises Chelsea player for World Cup performance

England are back in World Cup action tomorrow evening as they face Wales in the final group stages match.

Gareth Southgate’s team are pretty comfortable right now and only a defeat by 4 goals or more would see them be in danger of not qualifying, after a 0-0 draw with USA on Friday night.

It was a poor performance though from Southgate’s men, and they certainly met their match in the USA.

Sources: The truth about Mason Mount’s contract situation!

There was familiar Chelsea faces on both sides with Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling, facing up against Blues team mate Christian Pulisic, who had a very good game.

Jordan Henderson came on as a sub for England in the match, and he was full of praise for the USA team, especially Pulisic.

“I thought all of them as a team were really well organised,” said Henderson as reported by HITC. “They have quick wingers to counter-attack.

“Pulisic played well. We know him from the Premier League. But I thought their midfield was good. They are very athletic and solid. Plus, the defence was organised. A good performance right through the team.”

Ironically, Pulisic has become the talk of the town this weekend after that performance, reportedly drawing Premier League interest. Could be a busy few weeks/months for him in more ways than one.

  1. Amazing what can happen when a manager shows confidence in a player and actually puts him on the field, lol! Pulisic looked good, though not as stellar as the three American midfielders. But I think it’s fair to say he showed he “belongs” on the field with a collection of some of the Premier League’s best. His performance, which, to my eyes, was more influential than his club compatriot Sterling’s, continues to beg the question: How is it his club manager doesn’t rate him?
