Graham Potter admits Chelsea’s “structure” was poor as Blues well beaten

Graham Potter is taking his post match press conference after a defeat against Arsenal, and the Chelsea coach was pretty honest about a poor performance from his team.

The Gunners were a cut above, and the 1-0 scoreline really flattered his team, who barely had a touch in the opposition half, let alone threatened the Arsenal goal.

“We huffed and puffed but I think you could see the difference between the teams in confidence and structure. In the end, as much as it is not nice to say, Arsenal deserved to win the game overall. So we have to take that and use it as motivation to improve,” the coach said in quotes picked up by Football.London

Unfortunately for Potter, both the confidence and the structure are his responsibility. He’s been given a dreadful hand to play given the injuries, but even taking that into consideration, his team weren’t nearly good enough today.

We’ve now just got to take our medicine against Newcastle and Man City, who will thrash us on current form. Then we have the World Cup break, where our coach will have some time to get things right. As it stands, we have no chance of reaching the Champions League next season.

  1. Graham potter completely out of his depth, bring back Tommy tuchel.
A team which finished 3rd in league last season, 2 cup finals and quarter final of champions league, knocked out by winners.
All he says we are at a different phase to arsenal, why.
Go back to a club where middle of league is ok.

  2. No one should be surprised with this defeat & the other defeats, & the many that are on their way.

You hire a mid-table coach long term, you will end up a mid-table club long term.

Potter, nice guy, but is way out of his depth here.

No idea how to construct a play. They are just a bunch of players playing like a disorganised rabble. No cohesion whatsoever.

Their football is terrible to watch. Really poor quality.
Unfortunately it is a squad of players that do not complement each other.
