Former Potter player says current Chelsea group ‘probably’ isn’t right for what the manager wants

Chelsea have been severely unperforming in the last cluster of games, especially in the Premier League.

They have seen themselves slip down to 8th position in the league and of course, due to the World Cup break now, that is where they will stay at Christmas.

Sources: 5 goalkeepers on Chelsea’s shortlist to potentially replace Edouard Mendy!

It’s not an ideal place to be at all and they face a real uphill struggle now to even make the Champions League spots come the end of the season.

Graham Potter has not been in charge long at the club and already the pressure is one, with some fans on social media calling for him to be sacked.

Former Brighton player Glenn Murray, who played under Potter, has said that he feels Potter probably hasn’t got the right group for him yet at Chelsea and needs to be afforded time and patience.

As reported by The Chelsea Chronicle, Murray said: “Whether he thinks this group is right for what he wants to do, it’s probably not right now. It’s going to take time. And these are the conversations he will have had with the chairman.

“He will probably have had the conversation about; if it doesn’t go well for six months, what’s going to happen?’. That’s why it’s a long term appointment and I think he’ll ultimately be a success at Chelsea.”
