Fabrizio Romano wades in on when Chelsea are looking to sign Christopher Nkunku

There has been a lot of reports on Chelsea’s pursuit to try and sign forward Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig, a deal that looks highly likely to be going through at some point.

The question on everyone’s lips though, is when exactly when this deal will be going through, and this looks like it has been the hardest bit of info about the whole deal to get.

Sources: Chelsea make contact with agent of Leandro Trossard ahead of January move!

Insider Fabrizio Romano as we know, is one of the more reliable reporters, and he has been reporting on this story throughout.

Some reports have been suggesting that Chelsea might be looking to sign Nkunku in January, but Romano believes that the summer is more likely than the winter.

Even still, speaking on his Daily Briefing on Substack Romano has reiterated once again that the deal is all ready to go through, but it is just the final signing off that needs to be completed.

“Honestly, it’s not yet clear when we could get an official announcement on the Nkunku to Chelsea deal,” Romano explained.

“It’s up to the clubs and at the moment it’s not signed yet so we will see; the deal is ready but not signed yet and this is an important stage.

“Chelsea and RB Leipzig will discuss about timing of the transfer too, but initially it has always been planned for next summer.”
