Fabrizio Romano gives update on Chelsea target Declan Rice

Chelsea are once again going to be heavily linked with signing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in the next two transfer windows.

Any move is most likely for the summer, but as with previous windows, Chelsea will be in the mix.

Sources: The truth about Mason Mount’s contract situation!

West Ham have never really entertained offers for Rice in the last couple of seasons when Chelsea had interest, but the coming summer could be a different story and an opportunity could present itself. This is because Rice’s contract is ticking by at West Ham, and he has no intentions of signing an extension.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has the latest in today’s edition of Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing on CaughtOffside.

Romano confirms that Rice is not prepared to sign a new contract with The Hammers, and that could create a situation for the summer where interested clubs will make their offers.

“I reported last summer that Declan Rice was not going to sign a new deal with West Ham and this is still the case; no agreement, so there are good chances for Declan to leave in the summer,” Romano said.

“I’m not sure about the price tag yet, as West Ham have not decided and they still feel strong on the price having an option to extend the contract for one more year.”

West Ham will most certainly want a bidding war to start.
