England player names Chelsea man as the most skillful player in the England squad

England kick off their World Cup campaign this afternoon when they face Iran in the Group openers.

There will be Chelsea involvement, and the expectation is that both Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling will get the nod to start the game today, with Conor Gallagher having to sit out on the bench.

Sources: Chelsea’s true stance on signing Cristiano Ronaldo revealed!

Both Sterling and Mount have been mainstay starters for England under Gareth Southgate, who rates them both highly and relies on them.

It is Sterling who has been named the most skillful player in the England squad currently, or at least that is according to England goalkeeper Nick Pope.

As reported by The Chelsea Chronicle, Pope replied with, “Um, I’d go Raheem Sterling,” when asked to name the most skillful Three Lions member on Talksport this week.

It’s interesting that he didn’t go for Phil Foden or Jack Grealish, who would probably be most people’s picks, with Sterling being a more direct dribbler using pace, rather than skill, in my view anyway.
