Just when we thought that Chelsea were leaving this story and this conversation, they have been thrown right back in it again.
We all know the situation by now, after doing a controversial and dramatic ‘home truths’ interview with Piers Morgan, Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has had his contract terminated by Manchester United by mutual consent.
Sources: Chelsea keeping tabs on Premier League goalkeeper who doesn’t happen to play for Brighton!
Chelsea had always been named as an interested club should this situation arise, and they were also interested in signing him in the summer, off the back of new co-owner Todd Boehly’s desire.
That never transpired, but the links did not go away until recently, when we started to hear that Cheslea had no interest in signing Ronaldo anymore.
As of now, Chelsea have no plans to try to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. I don't expect that to change but I've learned to never say never in football.

However, Graeme Bailey of 90min claims that Boehly is yet to completely rule out a move for Ronaldo, despite the management not being convinced by it.

So, the saga continues, for now at least anyway….
