Chelsea’s search for a whole new recruitment setup caused a real burst of news a couple of months ago as candidates emerged, but since then things have gone very quiet.
With just one first team game to be played between now and the opening of the January window, this is actually a critical time for recruitment, and it’s imperative our new team is in place as quickly as possible.
Chelsea will unveil Christopher Vivell as new technical director soon, never in doubt — after Joe Shields, Lawrence Stewart and Paul Winstanley. 🚨🔵 #CFC

So it’s a real relief to hear an update on the situation from insider Fabrizio Romano, who in a Tweet today insisted that RB Salzburg executive Christopher Vivell is still on course to become our new Technical Director.
Romano says the appointment will be made “soon,” and given the state of our first team squad at the moment, it can’t really come soon enough. We assume it’s a matter of gardening leave with Salzburg rather than extended disputes over a wage.
