Chelsea ‘seriously interested’ in January move for player ‘liked previously by Potter’s analysts’

Chelsea are going to be one of the busier clubs over the next few transfer windows, that is very clear.

The new owners of the club are looking to continue rebuilding a squad capable of challenging at the very top again, and they know they will need to spend more money in doing so.

The midfield is an area where they need to look at, with uncertain futures of many current midfielders at the club with contracts running down.

The Blues have been linked with Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia recently, and sources at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea claim that a January move for Lavia is pending.

The understanding is that Graham Potter and his recruitment analysts already liked Lavia when they were at Brighton, and now they have taken this report to Chelsea in the hope that they can sign him there.

Southampton will be bracing themselves for an offer, and it looks likely that might come.
