Chelsea keen to keep hold of attacking option despite slow start

Chelsea are going to resist AC Milan’s attempts to sign Armando Broja in January, according to a story in the Evening Standard today.

The Italian side have been after him for some time, but Chelsea are determined to keep hold of him, and the striker “does not want to leave,” having finally graduated to the first team squad at Stamford Bridge.

Broja has hardly made an explosive impact so far, but he’s getting his chances here and there. The good news for him is that the only other striker option – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – is also struggling, so Broja will continue to get chances to seize the starting spot for himself.

The downside of that is that you’ve got to feel it’s inevitable that a big money alternative comes to the club at some point – and then Broja’s battle really begins.

Milan will have to bide their time and hope the Albania forward is available in the future.
