Chelsea and Arsenal battle out tense first half

It’s half time in the exceptionally early kick off between Chelsea and Arsenal, and the two teams have played out a predictably tense and scrappy affair.

Arsenal had the better of it early on – and by far the best chance of the game – but Chelsea came back into it as time went on and they were controlling the game more and more. Both teams will be relatively happy with the scoreline, but unhappy with their performances. There’s been a lot of nervy, scrappy play, with no individual able to put their stamp on the game.

For perhaps the first time in his two months as Chelsea manager we saw Graham Potter getting really animated on the touchline too, as he protested a Bukayo Saka dive. It seems like he might be feeling the pressure as much as his players.

The second half will bring changes, and if Potter can win the tactical battle, we’ve got a great chance here.
