5 goalkeepers on Chelsea’s shortlist to potentially replace Edouard Mendy

The future of current Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is very uncertain at the club right now.

He lost his regular number one spot to Kepa Arrizabalaga when Graham Potter arrived as the new head coach, and it looks like he faces a real fight to get that spot back.

Sources: Chelsea make contact with agent of Leandro Trossard ahead of January move!

It looks as if Potter prefers Kepa for his distribution, which we know is a real weakness to Mendy’s game.

Sources have told Si & Dan Talk Chelsea that the club have grown concerned with Mendy and are weighing up his future after the initial plan was to extend his contract.

So, there is a situation where we could see the club looking to sign a replacement for Mendy, and as per the same report, they have already drawn up a 5-man shortlist, that could also grow.

Brighton’s Robert Sanchez is an option, but he isn’t the only option. Other names being explored are Mike Maignan from AC Milan, Unai Simon from Athletic Bilbao, Emi Martinez from Aston Villa, and Diogo Costa from Porto.
