(Video): Thiago Silva shows positional freedom to score vital goal

Conor Gallagher’s superb winner deservedly got all the attention in yesterday’s win over Crystal Palace, but there were some interesting things to note on the first goal too.

It was a great ball by Reece James and a great finish by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – but what was Thiago Silva doing on the left wing to head the ball down?

It doesn’t feel  like something we would have seen with Thomas Tuchel in charge. Could attacking centre backs be part of Graham Potter’s bold new plan for his team?

  1. What a load of rubbish. At least Tuchel could motivate the players, this bloke hasn’t got a clue. Discipline gone, same old story every match, can’t hit the target from 8 yards, headed wide with an open goal, plenty of chances blasted over. Defence all over the place, players out of position, hope we have not got another pig headed my way, or no way coach. 3–5–2 use Chalobar, and Broja or lose them like always.
