A rather interesting rumour cropped up this week about RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku.
The winger reportedly had a medical with Chelsea back in the summer, despite knowing that he wouldn’t be able to make the move to the Blues for another year.
There has been some pushback on the details, but today sources like Ben Jacobs maintained their assurances that it had taken place, and that a deal was likely for the Frenchman.
Bit more on Christopher Nkunku. Despite denials from certain parties, still told a medical did take place in late August and that Nkunku (without signing anything) has verbally indicated he is happy with Chelsea’s terms. There is no agreement yet between Chelsea and Leipzig.

In fact, in the Tweet you can see above, Jacobs added the detail that there could yet be negotiations on the price with his club, despite the man himself being happy with Chelsea’s contract offer.
There is no agreement yet, which makes sense. With a fixed buyout clause in place, it will become a question of whether Nkunku’s season lives up to that price, or whether he drops off last season’s sensational numbers and Leipzig aren’t able to command the full €60m.
