Tevez, Falcao, Modric and Moutinho – Villas Boas names 4 players he wanted at Chelsea

Andre Villas Boas is a curious character, he always was.

It’s rare to get a nice long interview with a character in football who is actually willing to say anything of interest, but AVB definitely falls into that category.

His interview with Jason Burt in the Telegraph today has a long section on his tumultuous 8 months at Chelsea.

There tons of good stuff in there about Roman Abramovich and about Marina Granovskaia, but as always, we’ll skip to the juicy transfer gossip.

AVB claims that his targets were Luka Modric and Joao Moutinho. Chelsea tried for both and ended up with neither.

He also mentions how Marina Granovskaia wanted Carlos Tevez, while he preferred Radamel Falcao – who would come to the club briefly many years later.

The Modric deal is the one that really hurts – but let’s be honest, it was never happening. Tottenham would never have sold to us, and once Real Madrid were interested they had an easy out.
