The players currently at Chelsea aren’t likely to say too much about the shock sacking of Thomas Tuchel a couple of weeks ago.
The stakes are too high, and if they speak out too much, they risk upsetting Tuchel’s replacement.
But the player who have left are free to say what they like, as we see from Antonio Rudiger’s latest comments.
His interview with Sport1 reveals that the defender was as stunned as the rest of us by news of Tuchel’s departure.
The ever eloquent Rudiger sums up our feelings quite nicely too. He said it was a “sad day” for him.
“[Tuchel] made the impossible possible. But that’s football.”
Toni Rüdiger in our interview on Thomas Tuchel's dismissal at Chelsea: "I was surprised, it was a sad day for me. When you look at where we came from and where he took us: He made the impossible possible. But that's football, you know how it works." @SPORT1 @berger_pj

Rudiger and Tuchel’s success at Chelsea was very much intertwined, with the German coach bringing the German defender back into the team as soon as he was appointed, and the pair of them both then benefitting from each other’s abilities.
We’re sure their paths will cross once again before long.
Thomas tuchel will remain to be the second best manager in Chelsea history
