After weeks without so much as a press conference, let alone a game, we’re finally back into the standard football news cycle with new manager Graham Potter’s first Premier League presser.
His first piece of news is bad – but at least it’s news.
The new gaffer confirmed what we’ve all already seen – N’Golo Kante is running on grass and working with the group – but he also said what we expected – this week is too soon for Kante to return to first team action, and next week is a more realistic time frame.
Potter says Kante is not available to play for #CFC against #CPFC. Needs another week. Think he said Cucurella and Chukwuemeka also unavailable.

There was also a word on Marc Cucurella who had had “a bit of illness,” but sounds ready to play tomorrow if Potter thinks he needs him.
Other than that it looks like a full squad to pick from, with considerations about the minutes that some senior players picked up in midweek with their countries.
