Chelsea have signed some really good players this summer , but it’s worth remembering that some of them have never played in the Champions League before.
Marc Cucurella came through the Barcelona academy and would always have had top tier European football as his dream, but even he has yet to come close, with Getafe, Eibar and Brighton all a little short of European Cup action.
So tonight’s game will be huge for him, as he explained in quotes picked up by the competition’s official channels.
Marc Cucurella on #UCL:
"This year, I have the opportunity to play in one of these games and for that I am so excited."

We love the idea of young Marc in his house running around signing the theme tune, and tonight he will likely get one of the great experiences that any football can have – hearing it out loud as he lines up to play for his club in that competition for the first time.
Having said that, this might also be Ben Chilwell’s chance for a start…
