Levi Colwill wins MOTM for impressive showing against Germany

Levi Colwill’s progress last season was truly impressive, looking like one of the best young defenders in the Championship.

He’s made the step up to the Premier League now, although faces major disruption at Brighton as his manager has left to become Chelsea coach.

He will want to break through with Roberto De Zerbi as manager, although it won’t be easy being thrown into the top flight for the first time as central defender.

Perhaps his best path to minutes is through the national team. There he’s a guaranteed minutes, and he’s playing with guys his own age.

No wonder he looks so good at that level – he won Player of the Match in the Young Lions’ win over Germany last night, a game in which Conor Gallagher also scored and got some vital minutes.

Let’s hope that De Zerbi was watching. Otherwise, these could be Colwill’s last minute for a while.
