The moment Graham Potter was appointed as Chelsea boss yesterday, fans were trying to find proof of the idea that it was a decision made a long time ago.
There are hints in various exclusives that this has been in the works for a while, and Thomas Tuchel seemed to see it coming to some extent.
Other people noted that John Terry had made a Tweet about Potter out of the Blues two weeks ago.
How good is Graham Potter?
I love how Brighton play and he has to be one of the best young managers around. Ticks every box for me. pic.twitter.com/1CNL90lyFW— John Terry (@JohnTerry26) August 23, 2022
We’d love to buy into the conspiracy theory that this was all part of a tapping up attempt from the former Chelsea captain to get Potter onside, or some flirtation from him to try and get onto Potter’s first team staff.
But in reality, if you look at JT’s Tweets he fires out this kind of thing fairly often, and given Potter was being given high praise all round at the time it’s not that surprising.
