(Image): Chelsea’s poor shooting numbers show Potter’s first big job

We’re only a few games into the new season, but we’re already able to look at some team statistics and draw some conclusions.

Chelsea’s struggles in the league have been obvious. They’ve only actually had one good performance out of 6 matches.

That much is clear in the numbers. The Blues have take 11.7 shots per game. That puts them level with Wolves and Brentford; and behind Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs, Brighton, Leeds, Man U and Everton.

That’s just not good enough, and Graham Potter knows that his priority has to be getting his team into position to shoot more often, and more effectively.
