As Brighton Graham Potter was asked about Moises Caicedo and his superb start to the season as Yves Bissouma’s replacement in midfield.
Liverpool had reportedly made a late £42m offer for Caicedo as they suffered a midfield injury crisis, but according to Potter, that wasn’t nearly enough.
In his presser he joked that £42m might get Liverpool the Ecuadorian’s boots, but they’d have to stump up “maybe £100m” for the whole player.
Brighton would want at least £50m and Potter's own (joking) valuation won't help matters if #CFC do enter the race. When asked about a reported £42m bid from Liverpool this summer, he replied, "You'd probably get his boots for that from the chairman, maybe! £100m?" 👀

He wasn’t serious of course, but he certainly won’t be laughing now that Chelsea are being strongly linked to the box to box star.
The Blues need a player of his profile (assuming Denis Zakaria doesn’t suddenly step up and make a brilliant start to life at Chelsea), and Potter knows Caicedo well.
Certainly he and recruitment analyst Kyle Macaulay who he brought with him from the South Coast won’t have to do much scouting when it comes to the 18 year old.
The question will be whether they think he’s Chelsea quality, and how much the Seagulls really do want for him.
