We thought we had the full injury news from Graham Potter when he spoke about N’Golo Kante and Marc Cucurella, but later in the presser he revealed some bad news about Edouard Mendy.
The stopper missed Potter’s only game in charge so far, when Chelsea drew with RB Salzburg two weeks ago, and according to the new coach he’s still not ready for action yet, despite training with the team in the last few days.
He agreed that his keeper was “further on” but also noted that it wasn’t going to be enough for this weekend.
Graham Potter on Edouard Mendy:
"Edou is a bit further on, but hasn’t had enough to be involved at the weekend. Maybe next week for him."

“Next week” could mean the keeper is ready for the midweek game against AC Milan, but to us it sounds a lot more like a push for the home game against Wolves that weekend.
Either way, Kepa is going to get a run of several games, with a new boss in place to impress…
