Chelsea youngster linked with loan away after invisible start to season

Trevoh Chalobah stayed at Chelsea this summer despite major links to a transfer away from the club.

It’s a decision that hasn’t worked out well for him so far. He’s yet to play a minute this season.

Perhaps it’s no surprise then that the rumours of a move have started up again. Rudy Galetti has linked the youth academy product with a loan move to Roma in January, something we’d be very keen on.

The arrival of Graham Potter may mean more minutes for the youngster, but if anything things seem to be trending the other way.

Potter’s use of Cucurella as a left centre back and Cesar Azpilicueta as a right centre back means that there is now a real queue of central defenders for minutes behind Thiago Silva in the middle, and it’s hard to see Chalobah jumping ahead of Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana in the pecking order.
