We’ve already had one rather unpopular Chelsea player moaning to the media this week when Christian Pulisic decided to publish a book featuring complaints about how he was dropped by Thomas Tuchel for the Champions League semi final. Now Michy Batshuayi seems to have joined the moaners’ club.
He has claimed that when he was signed, Antonio Conte had convinced him by saying he would play in a front 2 with Diego Costa. As we know, that didn’t work out, and in fact Batshuayi has had almost as many clubs on loan as he’s had starts for Chelsea.
Michy Batshuayi: "Antonio Conte was constantly contradicting himself [at #Chelsea]. To start with my arrival. He called me and explained his project. He wanted me to play in a two-man frontline alongside Diego Costa."

Batshuayi added that he has been “fooled too often” in a career that basically peaked as a 21 year old talent at Marseille.
Michy Batshuayi: "Did I believe that? Of course, because Antonio Conte has played with two attackers all his career. Except at #Chelsea with me. I do not understand. The truth is that I have been fooled far too often."

Somehow, despite basically not being in the first team picture at all since midway through his second season, Batshuayi is still on our books, even on our fourth manager since Conte.
This is surely his last season at the club – although we’ve said that a few times before.
