Chelsea Liverpool postponed as fixture chaos worsens

Chelsea’s game against Liverpool has been postponed, the club have just confirmed.

The Blues already had Saturday’s early kick off against Fulham put back as football up and down the country was called off following the death of the Queen.

This weekend the games are back on – but Chelsea are in a unique position with their games being played in London, and the Royal funeral coming up next week means that there’s no police left to control what could be quite a spicy atmosphere at Stamford Bridge.

The postponement last week may have worked in our favour, giving Graham Potter a chance to get some work done with his new players, but this next one is only going to be a hassle. There are virtually no free slots left to hold a game between now and the World Cup, and whenever we get this game played, both sides will likely exhausted.

  1. I do realise that the country is mourning the passing of our Queen. And because of the pending funeral on the 19th September we need all the police to work.leaving any sports events unable to go ahead so how are the premier league going to play any outstanding fixtures before the end of the season ??

  2. Why can’t the fixture be played at Anfield this time round or are the Liverpool police required for funeral events
