Chelsea ‘in talks’ to buy ‘high-flyers’ as part of ‘global multi-club project’

Chelsea’s new owners are trying to buy themselves more than just one football club, they are looking to add more than just Chelsea to their ownership group.

In part of what has been described as a global multi-club project, Todd Boehly and co want to follow in the footsteps of the likes of the Manchester City group and the Red Bull group as they look to buy more clubs.

Sources: There are people on the new Chelsea board who really want to bring Declan Rice back to Chelsea!

The new owners are searching for new clubs to buy around Europe, and there seems to be a particular focus in Portugal.

According to a report from The Evening Standard today, Boehly and co are in talks to buy Portuguese high-flyers Portimonense.

Super-agent Jorge Mendes has been consulted over clubs to consider in his homeland and discussions have been held with Portimonense, who are fourth in the league currently.

They have already been turned down by French side Sochaux and Brazilian giants Santos.
