Chelsea had a pretty spectacular transfer window this summer, spending big to replace departing players and breaking some records along the way.
But it could have been so much bigger, according to a story on Football Italia.
They say the Blues had offered €120m for Rafael Leao this summer, only to be rejected by AC Milan.
That really would have made a splash, capping off big spending in defence with a rising star in attack.
In the end the Rossoneri kept hold of their man, and Chelsea will have to make another attempt in the future.
There will be a lot of interest in the Portugal star, especially if he shines at the Euros. That €120m could end up looking cheap, but he’s had a slow start to the season at club level, and we might also end up paying less for him next summer than we would have just a couple of months ago.
