Chelsea face tough race for £130m Bellingham

It’s been clear for some time that Jude Bellingham was going to be the top player on the market next summer, but his start to the season for club and country has really reinforced that.

If Gareth Southgate was undecided about whether to start the midfielder at the World Cup, his performances in the last two Nations League games have surely sealed that.

Chelsea would dearly love to sign the Dortmund man, but they join a long and well established queue of clubs who are keen.

Liverpool have long been favourites, and have a big gap in midfield. Man City can offer almost guaranteed success, a top manager and a resumption of his linkup with Erling Haaland. Real Madrid are Real Madrid.

According to Matt Law in the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea are doing their best to beat all these teams to the punch, but it won’t be easy.

He claims the price could reach £130m, which is crazy but also probably justified for a 19 year old with those levels.
