Chelsea approach Brighton for £10m Potter

Thomas Tuchel was sacked as Chelsea manager this morning, and as you’d expect, things are moving quickly.

We’ve already reported on the interest in Brighton’s Graham Potter as a replacement for Tuchel, and more detail is being added to that story by the minute. Matt Law’s latest article claims that the Seagulls have already been approached by Chelsea, and that it will cost a full £10m to release the impressive English coach.

The former Swansea coach is now clear favourite to take the job, and Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino seem to be the backup options.

The piece claims that Chelsea want to “cultivate a new culture within the club,” and more worryingly someone who “is ready to listen to their ideas.”

Potter is a really promising coach, but he doesn’t have anything like the pedigree that Tuchel does, and it’s easy to see this dressing room turning on him a year from now.
