Chelsea announce Graham Potter as new manager

Chelsea have announced Graham Potter as their new manager.

The club have moved swiftly to replace Thomas Tuchel after sacking the German coach on Wednesday morning.

Potter arrives from Brighton on a 5 year contract, with a difficult task on his hands as a manager who has no experience at Champions League level.

He’s shown himself to be one of the most promising coaches in the Premier League in recent years though, and now he will finally get a chance to prove himself with a squad and a budget that should allow him to show what he can do.

Fans are largely unhappy about Tuchel’s dismissal, but they will get behind their new man this weekend. The appointment has happened quickly which means that Potter should be in charge for the Fulham game on Saturday.

We’re all in for a wild ride – as sad as we are about Tuchel, we can’t deny we’re excited.
