Albanian hero hails players like Broja hitting the big time in the “best league in the world”

Albania is one of many countries with potential as a football hotbed in the future, and they’ve got a real presence in the Premier League now in the form of Armando Broja, the Chelsea academy product.

Former Albania international Rudi Vata has spoken exclusively to Tribal Football about his pride at seeing the youngster and countryman Thomas Strakosha playing in the English top flight.

“Players like Broja and Strakosha, who now play in England, where the Premier League is the best league in the world, is good for us,” Vata said.

“The game there has a lot of intensity, aggression, speed, power and technique and of course the demands and the standards are so high.”

Guys like Lorik Cana already laid the groundwork in the Premier League and other top European divisions, but he’s now being followed by the second generation – players like Broja.

The forward has come on as a sub 6 times this season but is still yet to make a start. The arrival of Graham Potter as coach has stirred the pot, and could provide a great chance for Broja to work his way into the team permanently.

We know one person who would love to see that.
