Xavi considers Chelsea target “untransferable” – but Barca may still sell

There hasn’t been much conflict between Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez and the board who brought him in. And why would there be? They’ve given him everything he wants and needs – and more – to regenerate the squad in his image.

But the books will need to be balanced eventually, and we may finally see some friction here with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The striker is one of the assets that could be sold, but that wouldn’t please the coach, who considered him “untransferable” according to a report in the well connected Catalan paper Sport today.

The 33 year old is going to be the sharp point at the top of the new look Barca, at least when Robert Lewandowski isn’t around, and Xavi likes what he’s seen. He would rather sell Memphis Depay if money needs to be raised.

If there is no interest in the Dutchman though, and if Barca are still trying to free up money, Joan Laporta might finally have to put his foot down and go against his coach’s wishes.
