Chelsea’s defence was starting to look quite settled after Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s solid performance against Tottenham yesterday.
He can play backup right wing back, as can Cesar Azpilicueta who has signed a new contract.
There are two great left back options, and one of them can cover the left centre back position.
“I am told that there is a chance Chalobah could now go out on loan again this window, or even be permanent “

Then there’s Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly, Trevoh Chalobah, and potentially a new signing to be the centre back fixtures.
But according to Simon Philips, there’s more action yet to come. Chalobah could be loaned or sold, should Chelsea sign another option.
That seems premature to us. He’s proved himself as a really useful squad player, and it seems mad to strengthen at the back only to weaken yourself through sales once again.
If he’s happy to be a rotation option, and you’d imagine he’s just fine with that, we’d be crazy to sell him now. Too much turnover is always a bad thing.
