Thomas Tuchel oversees friendly where brilliant teenage signing shines

Alex Goldberg has just Tweeted some interesting information about goings on at Cobham yesterday as the Blues continue their early season work.

Chelsea played a behind closed doors friendly against Fulham, and Carney Chukwuemeka was apparently outstanding, according to Tweeters who were there to watch the match.

The exciting part was that Thomas Tuchel was coaching the Chelsea XI, made up of a mixture of youngsters and first team squad players who didn’t pick up any minutes against Everton, so the boss will have got to see Chukwuemeka’s efforts up close and personal.

His first team debut can’t come soon enough, although given it’s a hyper intense derby against Spurs next week, he might have to wait a little longer even for an appearance off the bench.

Given the promises that were apparently made about first team minutes, it feels like he’s guaranteed a first start in the Carabao Cup, if not before.
