Thomas Tuchel and N’Golo Kante are both negative on injury chances

N’Golo Kante limped off clutching his hamstring yesterday, in grimly familiar scenes.

Thomas Tuchel’s reports on the injury weren’t good, as he quoted the midfielder:

“It seem another muscle injury,” Tuchel said in quotes picked up by the Evening Standard.

“He said he feels it pretty strong. So no good news.”

We can only assume it’s going to be significant time out for the Frenchman, and his time taken to recover his form after each issue seems to grow longer too.

His injury problems have gone from mild, to frustrating, to chronic, and they’re now getting close to effectively ending his Chelsea career.

The question is where we go from here, assuming he is out for a couple of months. Conor Gallagher stepped in for him yesterday, and can do so in some games, but he’s not the perfect fit stylistically, as he doesn’t have the immaculate positioning and superb acceleration that make Kante so effective defensively.

There’s a real sense that the Blues could now go for it in the transfer market and push for a Kante replacement now.

  1. I don’t if the coach knows that Jorghino is the reasons why Kanye and Kovasic has injuries all the time in the respect of his lack of always there for them. Jorghino cost us our draw last game, please we should all forget the referee. And the clash should stop using 5 defenders, it’s killing the midfield and the some careers of the wingers in the Chelsea team.
