I guess it wouldn’t be a transfer window if the top reliable transfer news sources weren’t battling against each other on what they believe is to be the correct information about a deal.
I can imagine that the reliable Fabrizio Romano will be sweating a bit right now reading the latest update from The Athletic reporting on Chelsea’s attempts to sign Brighton left back Marc Cucurella.
Romano of course, said ‘here we go’ on Cucurella to Chelsea yesterday and reported it as a done deal.
Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, here we go! Full agreement in place between Chelsea and Brighton for more than £50m. Levi Colwill on the verge of joining Brighton soon. 🚨🔵 #CFC

The Athletic’s report has gone directly against all that has been said by Romano.
They claim that Cucurella has been kept away from first-team training with Brighton because Graham Potter does not want any distractions as he prepares the side for Sunday’s opening Premier League fixture.
They also clearly state that Brighton have not agreed a deal with Chelsea for Cucurella or sanctioned a medical for the player, and say that a quoted figure of £52.5million is below the club’s asking price.
Yikes…. Fight on!
