After two white hot weeks where we seemed to inch ever closer to signing Wesley Fofana, the trail has gone very cold in the last few days.
The Leicester defender is clearly our top target at centre back, and there was as steadying ramping up of interest to the point that his manager Brendan Rodgers was forced to field questions about a potential move last Friday in his pre-match press conference.
After a busy weekend of action on the pitch however, and a moment where Fofana seemed to say his farewell to the Leicester fans at full time, things have gone very quiet.
Is this because a move is taking shape behind the scenes, or because Chelsea have broken off their attempts in the face of serious resistance from the Foxes? It’s hard to say, but if a move is going to happen, we would expect a breakthrough sooner rather than later.
