“Negotiate again next week” – Fabrizio Romano’s Chelsea updates ahead of big week

Time is running out in the transfer window for clubs to get their deals over the line.

There is around four weeks left of the actual window, and just one week left now until the new season begins. Ideally of course, clubs would always have preferred to have all their deals done before the new season begins. However, we know that is not always possible in this business and things are often far from ideal.

The Blues are trying to sign a new defender first and foremost, and they are working on deals to sign Wesley Fofana from Leicester City, and/or Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig. Both deals are described as ‘really difficult’ to do by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

He says that Chelsea will ‘negotiate again next week’ for both players as time ticks by. Nothing is impossible though in this business and The Blues will have to pull the tricks out the bag to get something done.
