Chelsea have made two big signings already this summer, but with one of them, his club apparently made a late attempt to convince him to stay, according to a report today.
Raheem Sterling scored his first Chelsea goal at the weekend in a friendly against Udinese, and Blues fans have already welcomed him into the Chelsea family with open arms. You get a sense of feeling that he is really going to become a cult hero at Stamford Bridge.
But should City have persuaded him to stay, none of this might not have been happening right now, but it was Sterling’s desire to be an integral part of a starting line up that convinced him to leave City and seemingly his mind was always made up, as reported here below by Ben Jacobs.
Sergio Aguero on Twitch: “I don't understand the sale of Sterling. There are times they [#MCFC] make strange decisions.”
The fact is Sterling wanted #CFC because he was sold on being integral. Man City did make a late move to try and change his mind but understood his decision.
