Levi Colwill has completed a loan move to Brighton for the season, the club announced this afternoon.
After a really strong season in the Championship with Huddersfield, the centre back gets his shot at the Premier League with one of the more interesting and progressive mid table teams.
It was said repeatedly that this was separate to the Marc Cucurella deal, and while that may be true in a technical sense, in that their names aren’t mentioned in the same pieces of paperwork, they were clearly totally interrelated.
Albion are delighted to announce the signing of @Levi_Colwill on loan. 🙌

Chelsea’s huge payment for Cucurella was clearly to ensure that Brighton didn’t insist on a permanent deal or a buy option for Colwill.
The only potential flaw in the arrangement is that the Seagulls now have no long term stake in Colwill’s future. They will happily leave him on the bench, unless he’s really making their team that much better when he plays.
