You will all remember last week when new Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly was filmed phoning Chelsea legend John Terry.
The former Napoli man wanted to speak to the former Chelsea captain regarding taking his number 26 shirt at the club, a shirt that was actually retired after Terry left out of respect.

Of course, it is a shirt number that Koulibaly also likes, having worn it for a big part of his career at Napoli. So there was a situation to be addressed.

It’s no surprise that Terry had no problem at all in giving up his shirt number, and he was super appreciative that Koulibaly even asked.
Koulibaly has today said that he actually phoned another Chelsea legend, Gianfranco Zola, in order to get Terry’s number! What a remarkably cool story.
Koulibaly on taking John Terry's no26: "I was nervous a bit but I was really happy."
He revealed he asked Gianfranco Zola a lot of questions including about the number. Zola gave him JT's number.
