Kai Havertz dominates this one stat despite poor start to the season

Kai Havertz has not had the best start to the season.

The departure of Romelu Lukaku this season set in stone the fact that Havertz was effectively going to be number one option up top for the Blues this season.

But after 3 games he’s got no goals and no assists, and despite some hard running in the channels has not had many attacking moments of note.

In fact, the most memorable thing he’s done in the opposition box was hit a chance to win the game against Spurs from a beautiful Reece James cross wide.

He has done well in the air though – in fact, he’s among the Premier League’s best aerial threats this season so far.

According to WhoScored, only three players in the whole league have averaged more aerial duels won per game than Havertz, who is currently averaging 4.3 per game.

So he’s certainly standing up for himself and making the ball stick, at the very least.
