Hakim Ziyech tranfer door still seems to be open

Chelsea are selling Timo Werner, and Callum Hudson-Odoi is also likely to leave the club. That’s what we’ve learned in the last 24 hours, but that hasn’t changed the club’s intentions around Hakim Ziyech, at least according to Matt law.

In his article in the Telegraph he wrote that Ziyech is “still keen on a move away,” and repeats the rumour that the Moroccan had been in talks with AC Milan.

He adds that Ziyech’s future “won’t be decided until the final weeks of the transfer window.”

It’s hard to know what to make of that. Is the delay because we’re waiting to see if we sign anyone, or because other teams are holding back?

Either way, we can’t see all three wingers leave just yet, as that would certainly make it necessary to sign at least one replacement. If Werner and CHO go, it’s likely even if there was strong interest in Ziyech we wouldn’t green light a deal until we had one fresh body in.
