Everton are currently trying hard to keep hold of their promising young winger, Anthony Gordon.
The England U21 international is the subject of strong interest from Chelsea, who appear to still be trying hard to sign him.
In fact, James Olley of ESPN only reported this afternoon that Chelsea are hopeful of signing Gordon before the window ends.

However, According to the reliable insider Alan Nixon with his exclusive report this afternoon, Everton are now offering Gordon a bumper new contract in an attempt to turn it back around in their favour.

Of course, Frank Lampard wants to keep Gordon and it looks like the board are trying to back him. But it remains to be seen whether any pressure from Gordon wanting to leave will be enough to convince the club to sell, or even whether this new contract offer is enough for Gordon to remains happy and stay at Everton.
