Chelsea’s wonderkid signing’s debut could be closer than anticipated after he joins early training

A deal was agreed for Carney Chukwuemeka as recently as Tuesday, and he was in London today not only to sign his contract – but also to join in his first training session.

That’s brilliant news for us, in a window where everything has gone in slow motion for large parts. Getting him out with the team as soon as possible really accelerates the process of helping him make his debut.

This weekend’s game against Everton was always going to come too soon, but the game against Tottenham next weekend, or at least the week after that against Leeds, now look feasible.

We know from Todd Boehly’s quotes on the club website announcing the signing that Carney is going to be part of the first team picture right away, so we’re not worrying about loaning him out or anything.

It’s just a question of getting him fit, getting him comfortable in Thomas Tuchel’s system, and then finding the opportunities to get him on the pitch.

  1. Things weren’t going well with the singing of new players at the initial stage in this era of Todd. But with what we have seen of recent, i hope all the players signed will produce good result. Bring trophies to the fans happy and proud as ever.
    Come on Blues!
