Chelsea second team starts season off right with landslide win

Chelsea’s development squad was almost relegated from the PL2 last season, but they’ve started this season with a bang – hopefully dispelling some fears that we might be in for a tough year once again.

The Blues are steaming to victory – it’s currently 7-1 – against Wolves.

New signings Eddie Beach and Omari Hutchinson got a start, while Harvey Vale dropped down from first team action to bag a couple.

Mason Burstow continued his impressive integration into the group too.

Carney Chukwuemeka has been told he’s on first team duty, and we don’t expect him to drop down, but there could yet be promotions from below. Hutchinson may go on loan, but there’s some logic to keeping him around Cobham to integrate and in case he gets a first team minute here or there.

Whatever happens, this looks a much stronger and more focused group after last season’s blip, and this was the perfect way to start the campaign.
